My latest exhibition, 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, opened on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 작은창큰풍경갤러리. A huge thank you to my friend Hank Haddock for thinking of me and getting me my first showing outside of Busan. I’m truly thankful for the opportunity.
This exhibition will only be up for a week, but I am currently working to show this work again in Busan very soon. The collection can also be seen on my website.

Ilgwang (일광) in Busan, South Korea and Nikko in Japan share the same Chinese character (日光), which roughly translates to “daylight”. Japanese companies ran copper mines in both cities of the same name. During the period of Japanese occupation, some Koreans were relocated to work in Nikko or stayed to work in Ilgwang. The now deserted mine still stands as a living memory of labor exploitation amongst those who still live in the village.
